BETT Conference 2006
Remember I told you about this a few weeks ago.
Seems it was a good one.
Read this extract from Ruth’s (Education Secretary) speech she made at the conference which (as you remember) is all about Education and ICT:
“….And just reflect for a moment on the immense value in increasing access for parents to school learning and management systems.
All those Mums and Dads and carers who are able to check more quickly and easily how well their children are doing in school, whether they have turned up to school today, what homework they’ve sent, whether their course work is on track. They can see all the positive comments that have been made on their children’s work and indeed spot the topics where they might be able to help with some additional support.”
Just how far are we away from this state of affairs?
Couple of days ago I was sticking up for Ruth (in a way)
Now I’m not, cos if she believes this is happening nationwide either now or in the very near future, then she also believes in the toothfairy and in her own forthcoming Education Bill.
Now that Education debate is going to be real exciting – if our Ruth is still there that is!
