On Interview - Be prepared to teach (2)
You will, of course, have been forewarned about this request for you to show your skills in the classroom.
Not only should you have been informed that you will be expected to “teach”, you should also have been informed about what you will be expected to teach.
In England, for example, a candidate for a Science post might be asked to “ Work with a group of Year 10 children on Cell Structure….”
Or “Genetics”
Or “Evolution”
Or any of 100’s of other topics.
The key though is that you will be forewarned as to what, why and probably even when you have to show your skills. You should also be told the time you have available, the age and ability range of the children in question, and the facilities you may or may not have at your disposal.
Tomorrow – some tips!
